Just booked my return ticket! Mama, I’m coming home on 9 September 2007, flying with Singapore Airlines SQ346, arriving at ZRH at 0750am UTC!

We had to get out of here…! After some time in Singapore it starts to become small. Not that I would have seen everything – I’m far from that – and not that it would have got boring – how could it ever? – but then after a while in this perfect city you really feel like you need some chaos. Or adventure. Or whatever, but just something different. So Aurélie and I planed a weekend trip to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Singapore’s big neighbour Malaysia. “Aurélie and I planed” actually really means: she made sure the trip would stay as adventureous as possible, I made sure we had at least bus ticket reservations and a booking for a decent room for the night…
Just to nip the baseless rumors in the bud: this is Aurélie and the answer to your question is “no”!
But yes – I do spend a lot of time with her and guess what: we even share the room together. Which mainly cuts down the rent to only S$450 each. Plus she attracts all the mosquitos in the room
What a bad surprise it was when I found a big hole in my two-month-old Geox shoes. The leather had ripped off the sole as it seemed that the leather hadn’t been strong enough. Unfortunately the special microporous membrane – supposed to expel sweat without letting water in – had a hole as well. Which wasn’t really a good thing concidering the fact that it rains every day over here…
I’ve updated to Windows Vista Ultimate and I only have one thing to say about it: it’s a pain in the ass! Programs don’t run properly, errors never seen before, problems I didn’t even know they existed. So: run if you still can! Get a Mac, change your OS and feel lucky that you made it over to the good side of the world!
(1)It’s been a while, almost a month to be precise, since I’ve posted the last entry. But it’s been a bumpy road over here, and sometimes I’m just not too much of an offroader. But I promiss to make it up and post all my pictures and stories on my life in Singapore. Or at least the ones ment to be published…
I joined Aurélie on a short after work trip to Suntec Convention Hall in order to help her find a decent digital camera. After two hours of consideration and a lot of going back and forth – from Sony to Panasonic to Canon to Panasonic – Aurélie decided to get a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2 with 10x optical zoom. We decided to celebrate her arrival in the digital world of photography with a good meal at Clark Quay. Since Aurélie didn’t believe me that I knew a direct way from Suntec to Clark Quay we made a bet for a beer. And guess what… I got a free beer at a place called Brewerkz, a micro brewery with some good beers and huge burgers. On the way there we watched some kids street dancing in an underpass and I was able to try myself at night photography, which isn’t really easy if you don’t possess a tripod allows you long exposure times. But well, I was able to take some lucky shots so check them out…
