    back to “civilisation”

So here I am again, back to Singapore and therefore “civilisation”…whatever that means!? The trip to Malaysia has been a blast, and I must say that I’ve definitely become a fan of the Senoi Temiars and their world. It was tremendously beautiful! I have taken more than 1200 photos on my way and it will take me a few days to review them all…

    Day 2: Selamat, Senoi Temiar

After a good rest in our little bamboo-bungalow we got up to find out what our camp would look by daylight. The sun was out again and it was absolutely gorgeous! Our camp consisted of 4 little bungalows, all elevated on stilts, made of a wooden frame with walls made of bamboo and palm leaf roofs. The Temiar’s philosophy is to build in an open manner, so that whatever animals (and spirits) enter a room are able to leave freely again. We didn’t mind, except for the mosquitoes, which we kept away from our blood with a mosquito net that we put up in our little room.

Day 1: Gua Musang – Bihai

    on the road to bihai

Incredible: almost 11 hours in the train, almost 1000km of train ride, and not one minute of delay! The Ekspres Timuran (XT14) arrived in Gua Musang at exactly 0521am, as planed and written on our tickets. And this with a Malaysian train. Which could only mean that this was a good sign for our trip. We grabed our bags and got out of the train onto the plattform of the “Stesen Gua Musang”, where Joice and Louis were already waiting for us. We were happy to see them this and that everything had worked out perfectly so far…so we thought. Joice and Louis brought us to the nearby hotel “Evergreen”, where we took a quick shower and repacked our bags for the day trip to the Temiars village Bihai.

    no news are good news!

So we left, to Malaysia, to the rainforest of Kelantan, where there is no phone and no internet. Only jungle. And the Senoi Temiars. The who? Stay tuned and find out, here, shortly on this awesome blog. ;-)
